About METCA Elderly Compassionate Care Program

The Elderly Compassionate Care, Macedonia Education Technology and Career Academy program is a veteran and faith-based program that provides Brevard’s low-income members scholarship funds for entry level healthcare training in Home Health Aide (HHA), Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), and Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) career fields.  Upon completion of training and certification, students receive job placement assistance through the support of CareerSource Brevard and Goodwill Job Industries.

History

The Elderly Compassionate Care program officially formed in February 2017 and placed its first CNA students in training on September 2017, which consisted of ten students. Two groups of LPN students also started; one in August 2017 and another in January 2018.

  • Total HHAs graduated:  7 (As of Spring 2019)
  • Total CNAs graduated: 36  (As of Summer 2019)
  • Total LPNs graduated: 6 (As of Fall 2019)
  • Total LPNs in training: 8 (Since Winter 2019 )
  • Total LPNs prepping for enrollment: 10 (Since Summer 2019)
